Virtual Gifting

Challenge:

Daysprings is a Hallmark Cards company with a popular card gifting service online. The company wanted to tap into the Facebook user base and build an active community. The challenge however, was the use of their existing flash cards from their website to render on the wall of the user which will necessitate the development of a custom facebook recognizable player.

Solution:

Social Cubix worked up an easy to use application that allows users to send virtual gifts and greetings to their friends in as few steps as possible after previewing the animation. We were able to develop a custom player that will play the animations on the stream and walls of the users to view cards that were sent to them. The application also reminds the users of up coming birthdays and the user can elect to schedule to deliver the application at a later date per the user’s convenience. Users are provided with history of their gifting activity including cards sent and cards received. We also created an administrative panel that will allow Daysprings see how each card performs in terms of frequency of use.

Results:

The application was an instant hit on Facebook with over 200,000 cards sent through the application and growing. The simplicity of the application as well as it’s robustness has made users become repeat visitors. Social Cubix currently maintains the application.
